User login

The following provides you with guidance on how to overcome some potential problems.

Accessing the members area

Problem: I’m unable to access the members area.
Solution: To access the members area you need to have signed up to CISMA via the "Sign up" tab. Once your membership has been processed you will be emailed your username and password. Once you have received these you can log in to the members area using the "User login" on the left hand side of the screen.

Problem: I don't think I've received the email from CISMA with my username and password.
Solution: The email will be from "cisma", the email address it comes from is "cisma@cardiff.ac.uk" and it is entitled "An administrator created an account for you at CISMA". If you have not received this then please see the next question (below).

Problem: I haven't received any CISMA emails.
Solution: Some systems have been blocking emails from CISMA. Please make sure to add the email addresses cisma@cf.ac.uk and cisma@cardiff.ac.uk to your address book / allowed list, so that you receive our emails in your inbox and they don't end up in your "spam" or "trash / junk" folder. Please set your Firewall and/or Spam blocker to accept all emails from cisma@cf.ac.uk and cisma@cardiff.ac.uk. For guidance on how to do these tasks please contact your email provider.
Please also check your "spam" and "trash" folders to see if the email is in there. If within 2 working days of signing up you still do not receive the CISMA email then please use the "Contact us" tab to let us know.

Problem: I can't remember my CISMA username and/or password
Solution: Your CISMA username is the primary email address that you used when you signed up to CISMA - please note that the "username" is case-sensitive. Your password would have been emailed to you when you joined CISMA. If you cannot locate or have forgotten your password, please click on the blue "Forgotten password" writing on the left of the screen.

Problem: I can't remember which email address I used to sign up to CISMA
Solution: Many people have more than 1 email address. If you can't remember which one you used when you signed up to CISMA then please click on the blue "Forgotten password" writing on the left of the screen and try your work / personal email address(es). If you are still unable to recall which email address you used, please use the "Contact us" tab to let us know.

Problem: I've tried all of the above and still cannot login.
Solution: Please use the "Contact us" tab to let us know - your involvement is very important to us.

Accessing the CISMA SAS support material

Problem: The videos do not play or they take a long time to load or they stop and start
Solution: If you are trying to access the videos via an institution (such as the NHS) or a company, then factors such as corporate firewalls and connection speed may prevent the videos from loading correctly or at all. Similarly problems can occur if your connection or computer is slower or there is heavy demand for the videos.
For the best viewing experience, please access the videos via a high speed broadband connection with as new a computer as possible. When you visit each page you may have to wait a minute or two for the video to "load" before viewing.

Problem: My iPad / iPhone won’t play the videos
Solution: As the videos are in "Flash" format, unfortunately they cannot be viewed on an iPad or iPhone. Please use a PC or Mac; or hand-held device that does play Flash files.

Problem: I don't think I have or I don't have Adobe Flash installed
Solution: Most computers will already have Adobe Flash installed. However if yours does not then please visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/   Please note that CISMA are not responsible for the content or availability of external web pages.

Problem: I’m unable to access the PDF documents
Solution: You will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. Most computers will open PDF documents automatically, but you may need Adobe Reader which can be downloaded at http://get.adobe.com/reader/  Please note that CISMA are not responsible for the content or availability of external web pages.

Problem: I’m unable to save / print the PDF documents
Solution: Once you have clicked on the appropriate “File Download” symbol, click on “Save”. Select the location on your computer (or external memory device) where you would like to save the document. Press “Save” and then “Open”. You will now be able to view and print off the document.

Problem: When I click on the PDF documents I cannot see the CISMA web-page anymore.
Solution: Depending on your computer settings, clicking on a PDF document may cause the document to appear in the same browser window. To see the relevant CISMA web-page again, click on the "Backwards" arrow in your browser.

Problem: I’m unable to make changes to the PDF documents
Solution: The documents are “locked” so that they cannot be edited / changed. If you would like to see changes made to them then please click on the “CISMA SAS Feedback” tab under the members section of the website. We are always keen to receive and act upon your feedback.

Problem: I'm having problems other than those listed above and/or I haven't been able to overcome a problem using the above suggestions.
Solution: Please use the "Contact us" tab to let us know - your involvement is very important to us.
